In certain parts of southern atolls (Maldives), the local islands feed the sharks to attract them for tourists. During lockdown their numbers declined, and the ones remaining looked sickly.
 
Thankfully, Covid restrictions have eased, and the sharks are thriving once again. It’s unfortunate they now depend on humans for food, a heavy lesson why most countries impose regulations on feeding marine life.
